I’m Catherine

I’m a cellist who channels the cello’s depth and versatility into every performance. You’re likely looking for music that captures the spirit of your event—something that feels personal and moves every one there. From timeless classical works to vibrant jazz, pop, and film music, I create performances that fit your moment. With a blend of precision and flair, I keep the music moving and immersive, letting your event shine while the cello tells its story.

MY STORY

Moving between South Korea, Saudi Arabia, and New Zealand as a child, I was immersed in diverse cultures that fueled my love for music. I started piano at five but soon gravitated to the cello, which became my focus. That journey led me to train at music schools in Europe: the Purcell School in England, Stuttgart University of Music & Arts in Germany, Basel Music Academy in Switzerland, and Trinity Laban Conservatoire in London, where I earned a Postgraduate Artist Diploma.

I’ve performed at places like Wigmore Hall, St James’s Piccadilly, and the Royal Opera House, and recorded at studios like Abbey Road.

MY MUSICAL STYLE

My playing is versatile and expressive, rooted in classical training but embracing a wide range of genres. I love the precision of Bach as much as the free spirit of jazz, or the cinematic sweep of film scores. Each tune brings something unique, and I weave them to suit your event—whether it’s a wedding, gala, or intimate recital. I’m here to deliver music that elevates your moment and lingers with your guests.

MY EXPERIENCE

I’ve spent over a decade performing and collaborating in the music world. Here’s a snapshot of my background:

  • Performances: St Martin-in-the-Fields, National Portrait Gallery, and Palazzo Pirelli in Milan and International Music Festivals across Europe.

  • Awards: Scholarships and prizes from the Gladys Bratton Scholarship, Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now, Richard Wagner Foundation, and Moncalieri European Music Competition.
